An exhibition titled "Spirits in Entwined Gazes: Time-Space Reconstruction of Hunan Culture and Tim Yip's New-Orientalism Aesthetics" opened at the Hunan Museum on June 28. The exhibition was jointly curated by the Hunan Museum, Oscar-winning artist Tim Yip, and Professor Li Jianmao from the Hunan Normal University. The exhibition juxtaposes over 160 precious cultural relics that embody the essence of Hunan civilization and more than 120 contemporary art pieces, film costumes, and props by Tim Yip, which interpret his "New-Orientalism" aesthetics. This creates a dialogue that spans time and space between Hunan culture and Tim Yip's aesthetic concept. (Photo/Tian Chao and Long Wenyang, Hunan Daily)
